Leghorns continue big batting attack

June 21, 2006

The Petaluma Leghorns Senior American Legion team continued to rip the baseball, slapping down Napa, 15-9.

The Leghorns scored six runs in the first inning, but had to rally for two runs in the eighth and four in the ninth before putting away the host Napa team.

Petaluma had all sorts of hitting heroes in its 14-hit attack. Chadd Krist clubbled two doubles, scored five runs and drove home a run while collecting three hits. D.J. Gentile had three hits, including two doubles and also scored a run and drove home a run. Andrew Ross had two hits, including a double, and drove in two runs. Brandon Delon had two hits and scored two runs. M.J. Enochs doubled and drove home two runs. Josh Krist doubled and drove home a run. Ryan Talesfore had a hit and scored a run and Chris Jensen doubled.

Dan Thompson, John Cilley, Nick Frazer and Nick Marshall all pitched in an effort to slow the hard-hitting host team.
