June 21, 2006
Jacque Taylor, a 14-year-old who will be a freshman at Casa Grande High School next fall, finished 16th overall in the difficult and prestigious Dipsea Run in Marin County. The Dipsea is considered one of the most challenging runs in the state. Taylor was the seventh female and earned a prestigious black shirt for being among the top 35 of the more than 1,300 runners who accepted the Dipsea challenge. Her time was a very impressive 51.28. Among Taylor's other accomplishments this spring was a second-place finish in the 10K Human Race. She also ran a 5:08 mile in a middle school track meet, a time that was bettered by only one area high school runner all season.
